CONSERVATION WITHIN OUR COMMUNITY

The waterway system for the Wilderness Lake Preserve community consists of multiple acres of open waterways and planted wetland and upland mitigation areas. These areas are monitored via the District's Southwest Florida Water Management District permit.

The CDD is responsible for oversight and maintenance of these areas as well as control structure monitoring and repairs.

Lakes are inspected and/or treated monthly. Wetlands are treated annually for invasive growth. Wetland success reporting is submitted semi-annually to governmental regulatory agencies.

For more information, read our detailed description of waterway management systems in Florida or our Wetland and Conservations.

The District has established policies to provide residents with the information they need to help maintain the delicate balance of the Districts waterway system, wetlands and preservation areas. Please review these policies carefully before making any changes or entering into any of the protected areas even on your own property.
